I was born and raised in Spencer, Iowa, a small farm town in the northwest corner of the state. From an early age I was drawn to activities involving the sun, earth, and iron. I quickly developed a passion for these activities as a result of my father carrying me along on his construction projects. It wasn't long before I was participating in the day-to-day operations of a construction site, no matter how helpful or effective I was. Soon the construction company gave way to the small family farm, which engulfed the remainder of my childhood. The values and skills that I acquired from this atmosphere proved priceless and were deeply rooted in my soul.

At the age of 16 I took over my father's custom swathing company. When I turned 18 years of age I made my first attempt at an independent construction venture. Unfortunately this would last only a few years before poor youthful decisions would bring the dream to an early end. I then spent the next several years in different parts of the country working under other companies, learning many building techniques and trade styles. In 2000, I joined the United States Army, which extended my experiences worldwide with a tour in South America and two tours in support of the War on Terror.

It wasn't long before the entrepreneurial spirit was tugging at my soul. Upon returning from my last tour in Iraq, I chose to pursue a contracting company that would contribute in the efforts of solving the environmental challenges that we face today. I witnessed many disgraces to the earth during the course of my travels, and these events are what steered my passion to this industry. I only hope that my hometown values, love for our planet, and dedication to our community will make Mid Atlantic Enterprise, Inc. a favorite among the residents of Williamsburg and the surrounding areas.
